Give less rubbish: that's how it works

Toys made of wood instead of plastic, analog musical instruments or sporting goods instead of battery-operated games or cuddly toys - there are many ways to choose sustainable gifts:

  • If you really want it to be an electrically powered gift, it's better to use a power cord than a battery.
  • In general, avoid products with permanently installed batteries.
  • Long-lasting quality products, ideally repairable, are always better than throw-away products!
  • The wish list for the Christ Child helps to prevent returns.
  • Vouchers also prevent returns and save packaging waste.
  • Have you already thought of a repair as a gift? A new cover for the couch or the repair of a beloved heirloom can have a high emotional value.
  • Thrift gifts conserve resources and are often unique.

Further tips for environmentally friendly Christmas, for example, are offered by the “naturally less rubbish” initiative their website.
