Social brand "share" expands to Austria

Born in Vienna Sebastian Stricker has "share"2017 founded together with Ben Unterkofler, Iris Braun and Tobias Reiner. "The idea behind it is as simple as it is social: according to the 1 + 1 principle, we automatically provide an equivalent product for a person in need for every product sold," he explains the social brand that already has it in Germany, for example at REWE and dm to buy there. "Every snack, such as a organic nut bar, donates a meal like that. For every bottle of mineral water, one day of drinking water is made possible through well construction and repair projects in countries like Liberia or Cambodia. And every personal care product, such as hand soaps or creams, donates a soap - often in combination with hygiene training, "explains share. To ensure transparency, each product also has a QR code that makes it easy to understand where the help arrives. Since its launch in March 2018, according to Stricker, 15 millions of products have already been sold in Germany and more than 400.000 people have been reached with help.

Now, the products are also available for sale in Austria at all dm and Merkur branches as well as in selected BILLA branches. "We firmly believe it makes people happy to share," Stricker says. "Our goal is to bring social consumption to the mass market and to integrate donations into everyday life as a matter of course. With share, we want to show that successful entrepreneurship and social responsibility reinforce each other and inspire others to do the same. "

Since the start of the project in Germany, 60 wells have been built or repaired and more than four million meals and two million soaps have been distributed. "A success that can only be ensured thanks to strong social partners in the various countries of the world," emphasizes Stricker. For example, share in Austria cooperates with Le + O - a food project of the Caritas of the Archdiocese of Vienna. Share also supports projects internationally, including the World Food Program of the United Nations and Action against Hunger.
