Hunter and Stella McCartney are launching vegan rubber boots

CONTRIBUTION IN ORIGINAL LANGUAGE

British brand Hunter Boots and Stella McCartney teamed up on September 16 to launch a new sustainable rubber boot. The boot is vegan and, according to Stella McCartney, is made from natural rubber from certified, sustainably managed forests in Guatemala.

As an alternative to neoprene, the rubber boots are equipped with stretch inserts made from a plant-based alternative called Yulex ™, which is said to be produced without petrochemicals from the same forests as the rubber and produces 80% less carbon dioxide than conventional neoprene. In terms of strength and elasticity, the new stretch inserts are expected to perform almost identically.

The short rubber boots started on the winter 2019 runway in Paris and are available for women and men for GBP 320.
