Kindernothilfe helps children in need in more than 30 countries around the world and stands up for their rights. Our goal has been achieved if you and your families lead a life in dignity.
Millions of children still lack the most basic things in life: clean water, regular meals and medical care. In addition, around 152 million children between the ages of five and 17 work worldwide, 73 million of them under unreasonable and sometimes dangerous conditions. Children can often be found in mines and quarries, in the textile industry, on coffee or cocoa plantations or as exploited domestic helpers. They are often victims of slavery, child trafficking or prostitution.
With numerous projects, campaigns and political work, Kindernothilfe advocates that children's rights are realized and that child workers can exercise their right to education and do not have to work under exploitative conditions.
About Kindernothilfe
Kindernothilfe is a non-profit organization and was founded in 1996. The foundation is based on the vision of giving disadvantaged children in the poorest regions of the world a better future. Specifically, we are committed to food security, access to education and medical care, promote the independence of families and campaign for children's rights and their implementation. The fight against poverty and exploitative child labor as well as protection against violence are also fundamental components of our work.
How do we achieve our goals?
Together with local partner organizations, we are active in more than 30 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America for disadvantaged girls and boys.
Founding member and CEO Dr. Robert Fenz: “It is particularly important to us to help the children directly and at the same time to improve the local structures. To this end, the families are involved in the development and implementation of the aid measures from the start. Nutrition, education, medical care and income paths are improved together. That is our understanding of help that strengthens children and has an impact on the future. "
We implement our goals in various aid projects and thus create basic structures on site in order to bring about sustainable change. In school projects, girls and boys are given the opportunity to go to school, learn to read and write and complete an apprenticeship. By learning practical skills in self-help groups, the poorest women in a village community acquire the skills to stand on their own two feet and operate independently.
