In honor of May Day, Jane will join Texas AFL-CIO President Rick Levy and Greenpeace Chief Program Director Tefere Gebre to discuss the labor movement, the climate crisis and a just transition. They will examine what is happening to ensure workers and communities are fully supported in the transition away from fossil fuels and talk about the inspirational unionization taking place across the country.

Rick Levy is the President of the Texas AFL-CIO, a position he was elected to in 2017. He previously held the positions of Secretary and Treasurer from 2015 to 2017. As President, Rick has focused on helping build a broader, bolder, more inclusive labor movement and weaving movement-wide solidarity to meet the challenges facing working people in Texas. During his tenure, the association has led the fight against legislative and political attacks on the labor movement and launched significant initiatives to build workers' power in Texas, including the Texas Climate Jobs Project, the Texas AFL-CIO Citizenship Program, and the Texas AFL-CIO Racial Justice Task Force and the Texas AFL-CIO Women's Committee. Tefere Gebre is Chief Program Officer of Greenpeace USA. Tefere has over 30 years of experience in coalition building, activism and organizing in the labor movement. His impressive track record demonstrates success in mobilizing and uniting everyone from faith leaders to labor activists to racial justice and immigration groups on the causes he has worked on. Tefere held senior positions at the AFL-CIO and the Orange County Labor Federation before joining Greenpeace.
