The earth screams, eaten away by suffering

We produce, consume, but unfortunately far too much

we quickly lose sight of: "What is our goal?"

Being happy through possessions is what we hope for

but our earth, yes it is seriously affected by it.

We steal resources that we are not entitled to ',

our consumption nowadays, unfortunately, far too convenient.

Clearing forests, pumping oil, one thing has to be confessed,

without us the earth would look so much better.

Instead of the sweet scent of flowers

only CO2 is floating in our air,

the ozone layer is already closing,

every contribution counts.

But now ask yourself the question

when does the earth have her afternoons off?

Day after day she has to fight for us

and we thank her with poisonous fumes.

"Do I really need that?" Must now be reconsidered

before we give away our money on knickknacks.

Do I become a better being through more possession?

Or would this purchase not have been necessary again?

A better life is promised to me through possessions

but with today's consumption all climate laws are broken.

Being considerate of the earth is not an option here,

our apparently unenlightened thinking remains monotonous.

What our world needs now seems so clear

a new consumer culture would have to be developed over the years.

The majority must now jump off the train,

the only way to save our future.

Swimming against the current: very difficult at first,

but without our commitment there is no change.

But not only the environment will thank you

you will also gain more strength for your life.

By sharing, borrowing, reducing,

a smile will adorn your face

much happier you will walk through life

and not block the future for the next generations.

Then material prosperity is only a minor matter,

instead of destroying our precious environment.

At the same time, space is created for the essentials in this world,

you think twice before ordering the next Amazon package.

Be grateful for what you have

because the earth is already fed up with our consumer behavior.

Because: who needs 4 different winter jackets,

that are no good other than burying the last of our resources?

Do you think now: "One person alone doesn't change much anyway."

Then you are thinking quite correctly: "We need a common goal!"

Together we all have to pull together

only then will the earth forgive us our environmental sins.

So let's do something to keep our world going for a long time

because we are the ones who shape our future!

Let's move something together

 then the earth will give us its blessing for a long time to come.
