Who is really paying for the climate crisis? The world's leading climate scientists have just released the new IPCC report, which focuses on impacts, adaptation and vulnerabilities. It shows once again that the climate crisis is being felt everywhere, but not equally. And it raises questions about how we deal with the effects of climate change, especially for those most affected. Let us talk about it!

What we couldn't cover but is really interesting:
Loss and damage advances at COP27 should include support for the establishment of a financing facility to provide financial support particularly to vulnerable communities already impacted by devastating climate impacts. Philanthropic organizations have already committed initial funds to support this initiative, and governments of richer nations now have a role to play. The financing facility should not draw funds from Voluntary Carbon Markets (VCM), which would only allow polluters to continue polluting the environment and would not focus on countries that bear the greatest responsibility for emissions and pay their fair share. Other funding options should be considered, such as Special Drawing Rights for debt relief and to help climate-vulnerable countries redirect funds towards climate adaptation and resilience.
