The world's largest Wadden Sea lies on the North Sea coast of the Netherlands, Germany and Denmark. With its sea floor - the mudflats - falling twice a day, as well as tidal creeks, shallow water, sandbars, dunes and salt marshes, it is one of the largest natural habitats that we still have in western Europe. Millions of waders and water birds rely on the Wadden Sea. The WWF has been working intensively for this unique nature since 1977.
