62% find energy efficiency in buildings absolutely essential

A survey on behalf of ImmoScout24 shows that in future Construction and renovation work Sustainability and environmental protection are very important for 43 percent of the representative respondents. A quarter are planning a project in the near future.

According to the survey, the focus is on measures that have an impact on the energy efficiency of the buildings or apartments: “The respondents state that the most likely improvement in insulation (28 percent), the installation of shading elements such as external blinds or green facades (28 percent ) or want to tackle the installation of new windows (22 percent) ”, it says in the broadcast from ImmoScout24. 

According to the survey, 22 percent could “at least” imagine implementing smart home solutions. To a lesser extent, the installation of air conditioning systems (17 percent) and voice assistants (15 percent) are on the agenda.

Further results: “Apart from the planned measures, the trend survey also asked about the importance of structural measures. The Austrians consider the high energy efficiency of buildings (62 percent) to be absolutely essential, followed by energy-saving lighting (49 percent). Some distance behind is the shading of buildings for cooling (39 percent). 

The use of alternative forms of energy for heating and cooling currently plays a subordinate role for the average Austrian. Only a quarter of those surveyed consider this measure to be absolutely necessary. "
