Study: sustainability in demand in the restaurant

53 percent of Germans always order a meat or fish dish in the restaurant, another 37 percent at least from time to time. The good thing: 59% of those questioned pay particular attention to organic labels, especially when it comes to meat. Organic is becoming more and more important.

This emerges from the study “Nutrition Trends 2025 - What Germans Really Want to Eat”, for which the Institute for Management and Economic Research (IMWF) asked 1.000 German citizens on behalf of the Peter Pane restaurant chain. When choosing dishes, 35 percent of Germans pay attention to regional origin and 28 percent to animal welfare.
