Minimalism - Unrestrained mucking

Processed with MOLDIV

What is minimalism?

A classic Sunday afternoon: Mucking is announced. You quickly realize that the bunch of things that you want to get rid of somehow always quite small. The dusty collection of books like to say: "Oh yes! I still read that! ", Or at the 12. One thought jacket: "I could wear it, if I'm invited to a Bad Taste Motto Party". But you have never been invited to a Bad-Taste party, or you do not like the genre of the books, of course it does not matter.

There are 1000 reasons why you should keep the T-shirt, which you have been licking for years in the back of the wardrobe: "But the much too narrow T-shirt was a gift from / Souvenir from / Souvenirs to ..." says then you lie down while you put the garment back in the dark corner of the closet.

But this vicious circle is no wonder, because we all fall into the marketing traps over and over again. We are constantly flooded with advertising: at the train station, in almost every shop window or on the packaging of many products - nowadays even anyone who does not know all the tricks on their mobile or laptop gets their personal, customized advertising. And every time you have this little pinch in the stomach: I need it!

Eliminating this eternal dilemma is at the core of Minimalism: less is more. This applies to clothes, furniture, products, decoration and everything that you carry around in your life and do not really need / like. There are people who reduce their clothes, for example, on 30 garments that they really like to wear and others who at last mercilessly muck out all the mis-gifts - everyone can define minimalism for themselves. There is only one rule: what you do not use or make you happy, comes away!

Here's the first question: what makes me happy? No, the 45 coffee cups in the kitchen cabinet certainly not - unless you do once a week coffee tasting for the nice neighbors in your own home. The pants that make you look like a freshly squeezed sausage, but the hope does not die to be able to wear it someday? Neither. The 40,000 cable in the Schraddel drawer (yes, you all have!), Which has accumulated over the years and dare not dodge apart, because otherwise threatens a crisis of existence? Nope, certainly not. And yet, we have all the reams of these things and do not realize how unnecessary they really are.

So: what can stay now? One might ask the question: "Do I have to give up my 10 favorite shoes now?" No! If the shoes make you happy, even if you only have them once a year, or you actually wear them often - no way! "And what about the photos that you have hung in the house, that always bring you to laugh / smile / think over?" Sure they can stay! If you take a look at your stuff and really think about what you like and what you do not like, and then also guilty feelings and thoughtful salads, then you are already a budding one Minimalist - and it is not difficult!

How do I start with minimalism?

1.Look at yours.

2.Be observing the contents of your closets for a month and what you really used during the last 30 days.

3. Get rid of: Make a "YES!" Bunch of things that you want to keep in any case, a "no" bunch of stuff you honestly do not need / like and a "maybe" bunch where you go still not sure if you keep the piece or not.

4.Where with the stuff? Recycle, give away secondhand shops, donate to organizations, sell (clothing gyroscope, ebay) - the main thing is to make something out of it and do not throw away things that someone would be happy, such as a coffee mug fanatic about 45 coffee cups.

5. The next time you go shopping, think twice before you buy something that is not vital and ask yourself the question: Do I really need that? Do I already have that?

What advantages does minimalism offer?

+ Less to clean up/ Wash / Collect

+ Better mood : you have fewer things that actually annoy you and you feel freed!

+ Good feeling : by selling / giving away / donating / recycling things.

+ Save money: you think twice before you look at the 47. Sweater on sale brings.

+ Organization: no more stress before the holiday because you have less to pack and the budget is clearer.

+ Environmentally friendly: less consumption, more recycling.

+ Good quality: instead of 50 socks and underpants, which break after three washes, you buy in the future, although once more expensive, but long-lasting, nicer and fairer socks and underpants. If you calculate that for a long time, you get out of the price on the same.

So, at the next free gammel-Sunday you look at your "stuff" and go away. As soon as you start it, it will work out of its own accord, because you have overcome the first inhibition. The main thing, you take your time! So - enjoy the uninhibited mucking!
