Afghan women and girls face restrictions like nowhere else: threats, forced marriage, segregation, extrajudicial arrests, denial of due process and the right to freedom of movement, work and education. This has to stop NOW!
📣 Amnesty's calls to the UK Government include:
- Support Afghan activists in protecting the rights of women and girls
- Ensure that respect for women's rights is non-negotiable with the Taliban
– Ensure that all women and girls are entitled to asylum and can travel safely
- Protect funding to protect and advance women's rights in Afghanistan
The voices of Afghan women and girls must be heard ✊
