Everyone has a talent - Column by Gery Seidl

Gery Seidl

Of course it is not scientifically proven and certainly not measurable, but I'm still convinced: "Everyone has a talent."
No one can dance as well on a rope as ... Nobody can tell a joke as well as ... No one can recognize a wine as well as ... Nobody plays saxophone as well ... No one has an eye for the right photo like ... and so on on.!

Of course, the approach to this topic can now be made from different sides. Can someone do something just as well as he can because he spent too much time on the subject or because he was born with it? Can he possibly do so because of a physical or mental overstatement, and if so, can he possibly not do other things at all, or only exceptionally badly? Are things to be rated at all, where I have already noticed that they are barely measurable?

What must the most beautiful photo look like, that it is also seen as such, because beauty is in the eye of the beholder? The most beautiful sound of the singer unfolds really in my ear. So I say, whether it's nice or not. FOR ME.

"If I sing an A, then that may be right or wrong. I do not know that. But it's definitely one, it's unique. "Gery Seidl on talent.

Of course, other people who know how to sing can tell if the sound is right or not. But nice? If I sing an A, then that may be right or wrong. I do not know that. But it is definitely one, it is unique. Just as I sing this A, it can only be me. And once I'm gone, there will be no one in the world who sings an A like me. That humanity could miss something, I question, self-critical as I am in question.

But what I mean by that is that one has a uniqueness, a talent, in his actions and actions. Doing an action that is only measurable to a limited extent, that no one has ever done in this way and that no one else will ever do. If you succeed with your path, then there will be imitators, but the uniqueness in your actions will never be lost. So you can now belong to the people who believe in it or not. Those who believe that they are going their own way, although they are not on any "map", or who are following a well-trodden path, assume that it is best for them to go.

As far as my career is concerned, for a while I took a very different approach, but I discovered that there are people who signal you when it comes to turning the corner. This man was with me Herwig Seeböck. A rock on my way. Impossible to move him. All my doubts were dispelled by him with the argument: "If you really want that, then it will succeed." Whether the other have ever done that, he was always the same. You have to find your own way and go for it. Otherwise, you unconsciously spend a lot of time blaming others when it gets rocky.

“Do it and don't take advice from those who haven't, because they just know how it doesn't work. If it doesn't work, try again. This time different. Failure is allowed. ”Gery Seidl on talent.

There is a beautiful phrase in theater sports that reads, "Spring and the net will come." If you feel you need to open a health food store, do it. Do it and do not get any advice from those who do not because they only know how it works. If it does not work, try again. Different this time. Failure is allowed.

Thomas Edison is in front of his, I believe, 5000. Trying to invent a useful lightbulb, asking if he still believes in it. Whether he does not already have enough of these many failures? He only answered: "I have not had a single failure yet. I just proved 4999 times how the light bulb does not work. "So, the only question is, which is the ONE thing to work on. This is perhaps the most difficult question par excellence. But one thing I can say to them is that once you have found your ONE thing, you feel it. It is a wonderful feeling close to the heart.
I wish you all the best and good luck. Have fun jumping. Do not worry, the net is coming. You are not alone.
