🫨🐬Rare recording of 2 endangered species 🐆🫨

😱 A shocking sight: a jaguar eating a river dolphin - both species are threatened. Of course, river dolphins are not threatened with extinction by jaguars. Rather, because we humans are destroying their living space. 🙁🌍 ❌ Gold mining poisons their rivers with mercury and fishermen catch many animals as bycatch. In addition, there are hydroelectric power plants that block their paths.

❌ Gold mining poisons their rivers with mercury and fishermen catch many animals as bycatch. In addition, there are hydroelectric power plants that block their paths. Finally, the river dolphins were also affected by global warming. 🌍🔥 Due to historic drought and 39 degree water temperatures, nearly 270 carcasses were recently found.

😢🐆 But the jaguars are not doing any better: they have already lost around 60 percent of their range. Even though they have a wide range of food, river dolphins are usually not on their menu. Our South America expert Dirk is certain: “Jaguars are one of the few cat species that are also very good at moving around in the water. But it is unlikely that they could pose a threat to a healthy river dolphin in its element.”

👉 Let's fight together for more species protection so that at some point these two species are no longer considered threatened. Thanks for sharing this video! ❤️

The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) is one of the largest and most experienced conservation organizations in the world and active in more than 100 countries. Around five million supporters worldwide support him. WWF's global network maintains 90 offices in more than 40 countries. Around the world, employees are currently running 1300 biodiversity conservation projects.

The most important instruments of WWF conservation work are the designation of protected areas and the sustainable, ie nature-friendly use of our natural assets. In addition, the WWF is committed to reducing pollution and wasteful consumption at the expense of nature.

Worldwide, WWF Germany is involved in 21 international project regions for nature conservation. Priorities include the preservation of the Earth's last major forests - in the tropics and in temperate regions -, the fight against climate change, the use of living seas and the preservation of rivers and wetlands worldwide. WWF Germany also runs numerous projects and programs in Germany.

The WWF's goal is clear: if we succeed in sustainably preserving the greatest possible diversity of habitats, we can also save a large part of the world's animal and plant species - and at the same time preserve the network of life that also bears us humans.
