Viennese are increasingly climate-friendly on the move


On the occasion of European mobility week the City of Vienna announced current figures on the mobility of the Viennese:

“In 2020, almost three quarters of all trips in the metropolis were made by bike, public transport or on foot. Almost half of all Viennese households, 47 percent, do not own a car. The number of bike rides in Vienna has doubled since 2005. And the everyday trips that are covered on foot reached a record level in the previous year: More than every 3rd everyday trip (37 percent) in Vienna is done on foot. "

However, the cycle path network in and to Vienna is still modest to date. That Cycle path program 2021 but according to city officials, go according to plan.
