A summer vacation in Bavaria? A travel destination that a few weeks ago would have been out of the question for many. Classic holiday destinations are countries that are as far away as possible and remind you as little as possible of your own homeland. Anyone who was not convinced of the ecological aspects - even before Corona - not to go abroad, may not have any other choice this summer than to go on vacation in their own country / neighboring countries. However, that sounds worse than it is, because all over Germany there are beautiful landscapes that you can finally explore.
Berchtesgarden is also a well-known tourist destination in southern Bavaria, which is visited a lot throughout the year. The popular destination is relatively quiet due to closed borders. Although the famous boat tours are still closed for the time being, there are many hiking tours to enjoy nature, especially in the town of "Schönau am Königsee". Once at the “Königsee car park”, some route options begin:
Malerwinkel circular route / Rabenwand
Duration: 1.30 hours
Distance: 3,8 kilometers
For the first foretaste of the Königssees is the Malerwinkel circular route. Within a very short time you can comfortably walk past the boat huts from the Königsee car park to the viewpoint. The march is also suitable in winter, since the paths are cleared and scattered. If you still don't have enough, you can hike to Rabenwand for another half an hour, which offers a great view.
Koenigsbachalm
Duration: 2.5 hours
If you want to take a break in a beautiful place, this is the place Koenigsbachalm mountain inn In good hands. The route can be simplified through the middle station with the Jennerbahn, which is currently still closed. So-called mankein (marmots) are said to live next to the hiking trails. This tour can also be done on a mountain bike.
Schneibsteinhaus / steel house

Duration: 4.30 hours
If you want to spend a little more, you can also take a longer hike from the parking lot at Königsee to carving stone house Companies. Here you can enjoy beautiful alpine meadows and forests.
