Schools for Earth Climate Lab

In cooperation with the State Institute for Teacher Education, Greenpeace Germany organizes the Climate Lab Hamburg - a one-year school development project to promote climate protection, sustainability and democratic student participation. In cooperation with the State Institute for Teacher Education, Greenpeace Germany organizes the Climate Lab Hamburg - a one-year school development project to promote climate protection, sustainability and democratic student participation.

Six schools of different school types from Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein use the opportunity in the Climate Lab to deal with the necessary transformation processes on the way to climate neutrality and strong student participation.

The Schools for Earth Climate Lab creates a framework to fill the concept of "education for sustainable development" with life: in the classroom, in interaction, in everyday life in the learning and living environment of school - the entire school community is addressed - all school committees are addressed invited to participate in the process.

School development requires time and coordination - in particular, it requires a high degree of commitment and joy in helping to shape schools. In regular meetings, in person or digitally, school delegations of about five people consisting of students, teachers and a member of the school board work together to implement the “Schools for Earth” project with the Whole School Approach at their own school. This film accompanies the participants during one of these face-to-face meetings in May 2022.
