Imoleayo Michael was there when young people demonstrated against violence, extortion and killings by a special police unit in Abuja in October 2020. He was arrested in November 2020 and held in an underground cell for 41 days without legal representation. He was released in December 2020, but the authorities continue to hold charges against him. He faces three years imprisonment for exercising his right to freedom of expression and assembly.
