Sustainable housing alternatives for the growing population

Finding an apartment turns out to be a nightmare in many cities. In order to counteract this problem with solutions, many architects have come up with creative ideas to deal with current issues such as the growing population or sustainability.

A good example of this is the “designed by architect James LawOpod housing". The idea arose from the increasingly expensive housing in Hong Kong. A problem that can also be seen in Germany in some cities like Munich or Stuttgart. The architect found the basic structure for his so-called experimental micro-apartments in concrete water pipes that could be found on construction sites. The fifteen square meters are well insulated by the material. "Opod Housing" should offer a long-term solution to create quick housing opportunities. The pipes can be stacked on top of each other and thus form an apartment complex. If necessary, they are simply dismantled and rebuilt in new locations. The interior is also made of recycled material that has been designed to be practical and minimalist. The first “opod housing” with 150 units is scheduled to be completed this year.
