A little herbalism from the natural hairdresser

“Is there a herb against everything? We think: definitely in hair and scalp care! "

The healing, beneficial and nourishing ingredients of herbs have been used for thousands of years. So why work with chemistry when nature offers us so much power? That is why you can find numerous herbs in many of our products. Today we want to take a closer look at a few of them: herbal oils, tinctures and teas. With ancient knowledge, we counteract today's hair and scalp problems. Whether medicinal or kitchen herbs, we use everything from nature that is helpful!

In herbal oil for dry hair, for example. In addition to sage oil, you can also find burdock root extract, in the tincture for hair loss alongside other nettle and lemon balm extract. The HERBANIMA Herbal tea Figure and Wellbeing uses the power of chamomile flowers, dandelion roots, chicory herbs, lemon balm leaves and linden flowers.

Burdock root and coltsfoot

The burdock are herbaceous plants that are widespread in Eurasia and North Africa. The dried roots are said to have healing power: they are said to have a diuretic and blood-purifying effect, but are also used successfully for hair and scalp problems.

Arctinol and Lappaphene are its main active ingredients, these contain elements that are similar to hair and thus strengthen the hair structure. In addition, the growth of the hair is promoted by the plant hormone sitosterol.

The coltsfoot with its bright yellow flowers is one of the first heralds of spring. It grows in Europe, Africa, Asia and North America in dry, warm locations. It has long been known in medicine as a particularly effective cough suppressant. "I drive away the cough" - this is the translation of the botanical name Tussilago. Coltsfoot contains a high proportion of minerals such as potassium, calcium, zinc, magnesium, silica, iron, as well as mucilage and tannins.

In addition to burdock root and coltsfoot extract, HERBANIMA herbal oil also contains sage oil and grapeseed oil for dry hair. It is ideal for dry, frizzy hair and hair that has been exposed to sun, salt water, chlorinated water, air conditioning and heating air. Simply distribute 3-5 drops of it on the top hair and in the ends of the hair, or leave it to act as a hair oil treatment overnight.

dandelion

We all know the juicy yellow blooming dandelion that can be found all over the world - from the tropics to the polar region. It is an important pasture for bees, children will later enjoy the "dandelions". The flowers can be used to make syrup, the leaves can be used to make "Röhrlsalat", and the dried and roasted roots were previously used as a substitute for coffee.

The fact is that the dandelion contains many different bitter substances that stimulate our digestive juices. The bile and liver in particular benefit from it. The dandelion root also has a dehydrating and blood-purifying effect, and it is said to increase the elasticity of the skin. That is why we have packed them in the HERBANIMA herbal tea Figure and Wellbeing in addition to lemon balm leaves and linden blossoms, as well as chicory, chamomile blossoms and lemongrass. Prepared as a tea, this selection of herbs has a detoxifying, dehydrating, calming and blood-purifying effect. And it also tastes so good ...

Nettles

The nettles with their up to 70 species occur almost worldwide. Already in the 1st century AD. the Greek doctor Dioskorides used the plant for a variety of ailments. The leaves of the nettle have a slightly diuretic, blood-purifying, analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect. Their stinging hairs on the upper side of the leaf cause a burning sensation and tingling sensation on the skin, which makes them very well known, but also very unpopular.

The nettle is an important medicinal and useful plant: it contains flavonoids, minerals such as magnesium, calcium and silicon, vitamins A and C, iron and a lot of protein. The leaves can be prepared as a vegetable, soup or tea, and the seeds are used to extract oil. So nettles provide many important nutrients, promote blood circulation and thus stimulate hair growth.

We use nettle extract in the HERBANIMA tincture for hair loss: In addition there are lemon balm extract, lavender and mandarin oil and vitamin E. It should be partially applied and massaged in daily, not rinsed out. Before use, the scalp should be brushed with the HERBANIMA purification brush to stimulate blood circulation. This allows the active ingredients to be better absorbed.
