Villages and landscapes disappear for the climate-damaging brown coal. In January, the more than one hundred years old cathedral in Immerath was demolished. Here, the energy company RWE wants to expand its open pit - profit at the expense of culture and future generations. Against the demolition Greenpeace activists have demonstrated with residents.
If Germany wants to achieve its climate goals, we need an immediate program for the coal exit: stop of new coal-fired power plants and exit no later than 2030.
