Background: The heat transition is necessary if we want to make ourselves independent of oil and gas imports. Little has been done so far: in 2021 only around 155.000 heat pumps were added in Germany, and in the same year more than four times as many (over 600.000) new climate-damaging gas heating systems were installed.
