Children used to play here. Now everything is different.
The Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant exploded on March 11, 2011. Namie, a city with once 20.000 inhabitants, has been abandoned. A ghost town. Rusted swings squeak softly in the warm wind, no child still plays here today.
Japan's attempts to clean the region around the Fukushima nuclear power plant from radiation have failed, a Greenpeace report shows. Nevertheless, the evacuees should go back to their homes.
