Moderated by Alexia Tissières, a well-known social media activist from western Switzerland and Gülsha Adilji, a well-known journalist from German-speaking Switzerland, the live online demonstration #GreenRecoveryNow was presented as a huge interactive video conference that enables the demonstrators to watch live to gather without breaking the rules of social distancing. Over 2 people took part in this novel demonstration, which included speeches, artistic performances and collective activities. When asked why she is participating, Gülsha says “I think it's important that we continue to demonstrate for the climate. The question is more, why not everyone does it! ”
The demonstrators as well as the approximately 22 supporters of the petition are calling on the Federal Council, Parliament and also cantonal governments to use the reconstruction of the economy after the corona lockdown to set the course for sustainability and climate protection.
