On our virtual tour of discovery today we will stop in Lalibela. The city is located at 2.600 meters above sea level in northern Ethiopia, is a place of pilgrimage for thousands of Orthodox Christians and has one of the most famous sights in the country to offer: the unique and beautiful rock-hewn churches, which were carved deep into the reddish rock. The churches are part of the UNESCO world cultural heritage and have already been designated as the eighth wonder of the world.
