Everyone knows the comparison scale from A (highest efficiency) to G (lowest efficiency) for the energy consumption of electrical products. Strictly speaking, know and appreciate according to the one carried out by the European Commission Special Eurobarometer survey 492 a total of 93% of consumers * consider the energy label and 79% consider it when purchasing energy-efficient products.
In line with technological developments, the EU energy label is now being reformed. "As more and more energy-efficient products are being developed and the difference between the A ++ and A +++ classes is less obvious to the consumer, the classes are gradually being adjusted in order to get back to a simpler scale from A to G," says the EU .
So will be in the course of 2021 five product groups get a new scale, so to speak "re-scaled":
- Refrigerators
- dishwasher
- Washing Machines
- electronic displays (e.g. televisions)
- Lamp
“Class A will initially be empty to leave room for more energy-efficient models. This will enable consumers to differentiate more clearly between the most energy-efficient products. At the same time, this should be an incentive for manufacturers to further advance research and innovation to develop more energy-efficient technologies. " (Source: European Commission website)
