The lion (Panthera leo) is considered the king of animals. But it is only the second largest cat in the world after the tiger.
Nevertheless, the muscular animals do not stand for power and strength for nothing - and they are the most social cats there are.
Lions are considered critically endangered. In the last 25 years we have lost 20.000 out of only 40.000 of all wild lions. Loss of habitat, lack of prey and poaching are causing the stocks to continue to shrink.
