60 minutes of fascinating nature photography, as well as stories and live conversations with guests about society, ecology and global relationships.

Activate the memory! Spread the word!

In over 30 years of adventure and nature photography, Markus Mauthe has witnessed global changes. The photographer has been a loyal companion of Greenpeace for around 20 years and supports the environmental protection organization in its campaigns and visions. With his professional know-how - nature photography - in every episode of the new series he shows the beauty of individual natural landscapes and why it is worth fighting to preserve them. One conversation partner is connected live.

In 2004 Markus traveled to Patagonia, one of the temperate rainforest regions on earth, for his second Greenpeace contract for the forest protection campaign. In this episode of “Die Welt im Blick” he shows his beautiful pictures such as the Cerro Torres, Fitz Roy and Perito Moreno glaciers. At the same time he talks about his experiences on site, his first meeting with international Greenpeace activists, his first participation in a Greenpeace campaign and getting to know the "Kids for forest".

An aluminum plant was to be built in the midst of breathtaking nature. It was about gaining media attention to prevent this construction. Markus provides background information and explains why, in his opinion, aluminum should be banned as a single-use material.

After the 30-minute experience report, Martin Kaiser, Managing Director of Greenpeace Germany, will switch on live. Markus and Martin talk about the current situation and visions for environmental protection and about what Greenpeace has already achieved to protect the environment. Because this year Greenpeace Germany celebrates its 40th anniversary.

Viewers are invited to ask questions via the chat, which both of them will answer directly.

“It is important to me to pass on my experiences to people in a nutshell, in the hope that the beauty of the pictures will inspire people to stand up for the protection of the environment. I realize that not everyone can change everything immediately, but if we all start to rethink our own way of life and its consequences, a lot has already been done! "

The new series "The world in view" takes place every 4 weeks. Pictures, stories and live conversations - "entertaining and yet profound": Look forward to informative stories and interesting guests: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6J1Sg6X3cyzoqTCSOT2KBQgiaEMqguG9

The first episodes are a foretaste of the new Greenpeace anniversary show of the same name, “The World at a Glance”. Greenpeace Germany turned 40 in October. The photo show is a new composition by the environmental activist Markus - a journey through decades of global changes, the beauties of nature and successes in environmental protection. “The Greenpeace campaigns point the way to a sustainable future that we urgently need. It is close to my heart to help the association, whether for forest, marine or climate protection.
