Welcome to my blog: "The Wheel of Time"

Today I wanted to bring up a topic that I've never really thought about. But before I get to the topic and list a few things, you should ask yourself the question - What do I think of "sustainability"? Most people might think of green electricity, electric cars or a more economical life. Other people may think of the forest, our food production, organic foods or climate change and the melting polar ice caps.

But after all this one has to say that all areas of life are examined in order to achieve the great goal - the goal to which all nations must hold fast - yes everyone, including the Americans, Indians, Pakistani, Chinese, Japanese, Russians and of course the Europeans States in their pioneering role - namely the prevention of global warming and the associated melting of the polar ice caps.

Let's start with mobility. Since the 2015 emissions scandal at the latest, it has been clear that clean ambient air is not possible with conventional combustion engines, especially in metropolitan areas. It also became clear to everyone that the number one climatic poison is actually carbon dioxide, which causes the greenhouse effect and essentially contributes to global warming. Our common goal must be to reduce this climate gas globally, to a level before industrialization, i.e. at the beginning of the 19th century after the invention of the steam engine.

It will not work in the future entirely without carbon and hydrogen compounds. But through new technologies, such as renewable energy sources such as wind power, photovoltaic systems, better use of water power or simply energy savings in industrial processes or thermal insulation in buildings, high savings potential can be realized.

The simplest would of course be to turn the clock back about 100 years.

When my great-grandfather bought a small farm in 1932, he was self-sufficient with 5 cows, chickens, pigs and a medium-sized beekeeping facility. A cart was being pulled by an ox. There was no tractor and everything else was done by hand. It was heated with renewable wood, and the CO2 balance was certainly many times lower than that of today's average citizen.

But today you can't ask everyone to turn back the clock. Our economic system is based on the division of labor, consumption and quick money with capital growth through interest or dividends, and the multitude of jobs required would not be achievable without the current system. Now we can't go back because too many jobs would be lost.

The only thing we can do is reduce CO2 emissions to zero and create an economic system that works with zero growth. Eternal growth cannot and will not exist. If only because there are not an infinite number of raw materials in this world.

I was pleased that I was able to give you a little insight into my collection of thoughts. I wanted to bring my thoughts a little closer to you. Perhaps my information and opinions have helped you a little to get your own idea of the subject.
