WEB Wind Energy wins the category of the State Prize for Corporate Quality


Green electricity producer WEB Windenergie from Waidhofen/Thaya (Lower Austria) is the winner of the category "Medium-sized companies" at the State Prize for Corporate Quality 2022 and convinced the jury, among other things, with its clear vision and strategy geared towards growth and sustainability. The State Prize for Corporate Quality 2022 itself goes to the FH Campus Wien. The award has been presented by the Federal Ministry for Digital and Economic Affairs (BMDW) and Quality Austria since 1996.

Excellent service portfolio

On Wednesday, June 22, 2022, the FH Campus Wien triumphed at a celebratory gala in the Palais Wertheim in Vienna. The educational institution emerged as the category winner among the non-profit organizations and as the overall winner in the form of the State Prize for Corporate Quality 2022. "The FH Campus Wien convinced with its outstanding overall performance and the well above average development, which can also be seen from the doubling of its market share in a competitive and dynamically growing environment," explained the jury spokeswoman Ulrike Domany-Funtan. The excellent service portfolio in the areas of technology, social affairs and health as well as the correspondence of the business areas with the key competences of the future were also recognized.

Transformation towards the future

“The FH Campus Wien has impressively managed to continuously improve its services and courageously push forward with the transformation towards the future. As part of the corporate culture, ethics and sustainability are also noticeable to the outside world and are now a key success factor in achieving holistic top performance,” congratulates Franz Peter Walder, Executive Director AFQM and Member of the Board of QualityAustria. There was also praise and recognition from Georg Konetzky, Head of Section at the Federal Ministry for Digital and Economic Affairs (BMDW): “Educational institutes bear a special social responsibility for the future of our country. By reflecting on its own organization and participating in this recognized competition, FH Campus Wien has shown a great deal of commitment and courage. The efforts have more than paid off in the form of the 2022 State Prize for Corporate Quality.”

Opportunities for small and large organizations

With a market share of 40%, the FH Campus Wien is not only the largest university of applied sciences (FH) in Vienna, but also the largest FH in Austria with more than 8.000 students and a market share of 12%. Already in the application process for this year's State Prize for Corporate Quality, the Vienna Institute achieved the "Recognized for Excellence 7 Star" award in the assessment according to the international EFQM model, making it the only university in Europe with this rating.

The State Prize for Corporate Quality has been awarded by the BMDW and Quality Austria since 1996. The EFQM model can be used for both small and large organizations from all industries. All category winners have an equal chance of winning the overall prize in the form of the State Prize for Corporate Quality.

Category winner for companies from Waidhofen/Thaya

WEB Windenergie AG from Pfaffenschlag near Waidhofen an der Thaya (Lower Austria) won in the medium-sized company category. According to the jurors, the producer of green electricity from wind, solar and hydropower communicates "a clear vision and backs it up with a comprehensive strategy designed for corporate growth and sustainability". In addition, the company has a "state-of-the-art control center that enables all installed systems to be permanently monitored in terms of the most important criteria such as performance and operational safety and to intervene immediately in the event of faults".

In the category Large corporations victory went to the for the third time in a row Personnel service provider IK Hofmann from St. Florian (Upper Austria). The jury praised the pronounced customer orientation and the respectful treatment of the employees: "External employees are not only placed, they are intensively supported, valued and looked after in a way that can be seen as exemplary for the industry," according to the independent jurors from the fields of business, science and administration. In addition, we have succeeded in establishing a corporate culture in which communication is appreciative.

The VBV – provident fund won the category award for the second time in a row Small businesses, which is awarded to companies with 5 to 50 employees. The Viennese company is an important player within the industry: VBV is the largest of the eight provident funds and has specialized in sustainable investments for years. Among other things, the jury praised the "holistic CSR approach at a high level" and the successes in sales, which are reflected in "increasing access, a high proportion of regular customers and excellent performance".
