September 4th marks a month since the explosion in the port of Beirut. The massive explosion killed over 180 people, injured more than 6.500 and displaced around 300.000 residents.

Oxfam partner KAFA is distributing packages to vulnerable families affected by the August 4th explosion in the port of Beirut. More than 180 people were killed in this massive explosion, more than 6.500 were injured and around 300.000 residents were displaced.

KAFA, which means “enough” in Arabic, is a feminist, secular, Lebanese, non-profit, non-governmental civil society organization that aims to create a society free from social, economic and legal patriarchal structures that discriminate against women.

According to a recent UN report on the Beirut explosion, housing provision after home loss often leads to overcrowded conditions, creating other risks such as sexual and gender-based violence.
