The AAE is the only private Austrian electricity company that has been producing clean green electricity for over 130 years, independently and without networking with other power companies. Since the electricity market liberalization is delivered to customers throughout Austria. Thus, the AAE is one of the very first power producers and suppliers in the former KuK monarchy. The constant effort to actively participate in the energy transition has received numerous awards. Already twice in succession, the AAE of Greenpeace, Global 2000 and the WWF was elected Austrian test winner.
The family-run business, which is currently in its fifth generation, is characterized not only by sustainable power generation with the help of wind, water and sun, but also by the development of power station and e-mobility technology.
By implementing unique projects, the company demonstrates its strong ecological innovation. In addition to the construction of one of the first hydroelectric power plants in Austria, the first high-altitude wind turbine in Europe and the construction of the first wind power plants in Slovenia, the AAE developed the Hydro-Solar Energy System, which enables the efficient use of energy from renewable energies via a green power control center.
Many years of know-how in power plant construction and grid operation has been used in recent years in the development of charging systems for e-cars, e-bikes and in future for trucks. The charging products are highly energy efficient and are particularly user-friendly due to the payment system, which is the only system on the market that allows direct banknote payment. The entire production takes place at 100% in Austria. These EnerCharge products are currently the technology leaders in the e-mobility market and are distributed throughout Europe. In addition, the family business makes an important contribution to raising awareness by implementing interesting energy education projects for schools.
