The #earningausderrise initiative ensures a 360 ° view of companies

The large Corona Deep Dive Learning Initiative ensures a unique 360 ° view of companies in Austria.

As part of # learningausderrise (https://www.lernenausderkrise.at/), 14 experts in cooperation with the WU Executive Academy examine all departments of companies and the organizational changes caused by the corona crisis.

Mauerbach / Vienna, June 24, 2020 - >> Learn together today what will make companies strong tomorrow << is the motto of the initiative that Katharina Sigl, together with her project partners Margit Berner and Thomas Dorner, brought to life in Austria over the past few weeks .

An initiative that aims to bring together all the knowledge and learnings of the past few weeks from managers in a wide range of specialist areas from a wide variety of companies.

"Neither the creation of a futurological work nor a focused industry analysis is the focus of our interest," emphasizes the initiator Katharina Sigl. "These plants are already being offered at various depths by many industry associations or futurologists."

Katharina Sigl underlines that with the 14 experts she has selected, she will take a professional 360 ° view of all specialist areas of companies.

"We talk to responsible competence owners and managers from finance, HR, production, purchasing, sales, marketing, customer service, IT, management to innovation and digitization in order to record their learnings and to carry out an initial assessment.

We are not concerned with a ranking of which companies, for example, handled delivery bottlenecks more competently or not. It is important that we understand well which measures were effective and which were ineffective. But just as plainly discuss what was missing and which might have been very helpful, ”says Sigl. Sigl brought competent scientific partners on board for the implementation: Helga Pattart-Drexler from the WU Executive Academy and Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Elsik from WU Vienna actively support this initiative - both as experts and in the multi-phase investigation.

“As a WU Executive Academy, we are very happy to be able to support this initiative. In our daily work with companies and managers, we rely on practical impulses and daily learning. Those who are open to learning from mistakes and constantly developing will also be successful. Contributing to this and relying on progress is part of our journey, ”says Helga Pattart-Drexler from WU Vienna.

Only if this knowledge is shared across industries and across company sizes are companies better equipped for future crises and challenges. The initiator seems to be convinced that there will always be crises. For them, the corona crisis is already the third crisis in their professional lives - and just as all crises have passed, this will also go away.

But one thing would be reprehensible - to learn nothing from this crisis. And the danger seems to be there. Because when the engine of the economy starts purring, even if only very quietly, all concentration is back on the daily business. Forget that there was something. Forget about the activities that companies could benefit from in the future in times of crisis, which do not always have to be caused by a virus.

How does the new normal become resilient?
