Also in the year 2019 many journalistic works dealt with democracy and human rights as well as with freedom of the press and information. It is precisely for these topics that the Concordia press club awards the Concordia prizes, each endowed with € 4.000.
With the price in the category Human rights, sponsored by Bank Austria, recognizes responsible, unprejudiced journalistic achievements to promote reporting on human rights or to counteract discrimination of any kind, religious, ethnic or gender-related. The winning works must have been published in Austria or have a close connection to Austria.
With the price in the category Press freedom, donated by the "Gemeinnützigen Privatstiftung Dr. Strohmayer ", special journalistic achievements are honored, which are provided in the service of the right to freedom of the press and information. The services or the published works are not restricted to the territory of the Republic of Austria.
For the Concordia Prizes you can submit journalistic works (single contribution or contribution series) that have been published in the year 2019 in a periodic print medium, on television, radio or online.
Submission deadline is the 31. January 2020
