Sustainability - One hand washes the other

The sustainability. You've heard from her for a long time, from newspapers to groceries to car advertising. But what does it actually mean? If you search Google for the definition of “sustainability”, you will come across a sentence that you probably only understood halfway after reading it the third time. However, if you take the English word for it, namely “sustainability”, this term is almost self-explanatory. “Sustain” means something like “to endure” or “to endure” and “ability” is the possibility. If one is sustainable in a system, then this system will continue to run - without negative consequences. Of course, this is just my interpretation of this term and it can certainly be interpreted differently.

But now to sustainability and how it could or should develop further. The times we live in are interesting, to say the least. The history of mankind has never been boring anyway.

We are facing important decisions that are closely related to the future of mankind and an important factor in this is sustainability, as this is also closely linked to global warming. Because if one lived sustainably enough, the environment would be able to bear us. There are enough approaches for this, but it would be even better if these were also carried out. Our generation will play a major role in how our world will change, because it will change in any case, whether in the positive or further in the negative direction, we are solely responsible for that.

But how can one manage to convince the whole world to live much more sustainably when it is already difficult for many to accept that it would be better for the environment if, for example, one were to reduce meat consumption. The biggest problem is egoism.

Nobody likes to sacrifice something as long as they don't get anything in return and that is the big sticking point at the moment. In order for future generations to have a good life, you have to sacrifice some things without getting anything in return. Enough older people are wondering what it will bring them to live even more sustainably and to forego beautiful things, because they won't experience it any more when the earth goes downhill.

Our generation must stand for change and cohesion and must not think like the previous generations, because it will then be too late for the following generations to be able to change anything.
