In the school development project Climate Lab Hamburg, six schools have worked together with Greenpeace to develop projects and climate protection measures that are intended to make teaching and school operations more sustainable in the future and with which the schools are taking a big step towards climate neutrality. The Climate Lab Hamburg took place in six modules over a period of one and a half years. This film documents the final event, which took place on March 23, 2023 at the Hirtenweg school in Hamburg. In addition to the Hirtenweg school, a school with a focus on physical and motor development, two district schools, a community school from Schleswig-Holstein, a high school and a Rudolf Steiner school also took part in the Hamburg Climate Lab. The numerous sustainability projects show how Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) can be implemented in everyday school life. The results range from raised beds to energy savings and CO2 balances to the climate-friendly conversion of the canteen. The schools recorded their ideas and projects in so-called graphic recordings, which are also presented in the film.
"Schools for Earth" is a climate school project for all schools in Germany. Among other things, this video gives a small insight into the climate work of a school with a focus on support and the material adaptations that Greenpeace offers for different support needs.
