(R) evolution - Editorial by Helmut Melzer

Go on the street and ask an X-Aryan what the world should be like. The answer will be very similar in almost all cases: a green planet where world peace prevails, human rights, equality, fairness and prosperity for all. This sounds naive to many ears, but it is by no means wrong. On the contrary, and we agree. Almost all. But, and that is probably the crucial question: why does the reality look completely different?

One of the many Viennese pubs is traditionally the scene of often sprawling discussions of my circle of friends. The question of how our society can change for the better is a regularly recurring theme. The fact is, and this is already taught in the long history of mankind: destruction and violence seem to many to be the only means of bringing about far-reaching changes. But that is a mistake, and above all no sustainable solution.

One of the greatest stories of our time - Star Wars [LOL] - holds a crucial truth in itself. In the words of wise Yoda: "Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hatred, hatred leads to unspeakable suffering. "It is the inner struggle between good and evil that everyone has to deal with. In small everyday affairs and in big decisions. From this point of view, opportunism is the most evil peculiarity of man, the root of all evil.

"Man is not finished yet" you can read in this issue. Developing (Latin evolvere), do not roll back or even roll back (Latin revolvere), the main message of this issue is no coincidence. We have to outgrow ourselves. This also applies to the 15. October: When you stand in the polling booth, please consider which cruiser will best forward us as a society, closer to an ideal world.
