Reuse creates ecological added value from 30 million trees

The trade in used things creates great environmental benefits because the purchase and sale of used cars, tools and the like noticeably reduces the ecological footprint.

The willhaben.at platform alone trades used goods that, according to the operator, save up to 380.000 tons of CO2 annually. This saving potential corresponds to the CO2 absorption performance of almost 30 million trees. According to calculations by the online platform, the saving potential of raw materials is just under 15.000 tons of aluminum and more than 23.500 tons of plastic. The effect of steel is even clearer: more than 150.000 tons are saved here.
