RepaNet wants to make social clothing collection visible

RepaNet develops a label for the social economy clothes collectionthat makes those collectors visible where the proceeds really flow into social causes. RepaNet is now looking for sponsors for the project implementation. In order to create sustainable cooperation, the Re-Use and Repair Network Austria participates in the action "Wirtschaft hilft!".

RepaNet, the Austrian reuse and repair network, is currently developing a project that touches on a highly topical issue. "According to Poll of Greenpeace On average, the Austrian owns 85 garments. Of these, every eighth piece is never worn until rarely. At some point you want to get rid of this clothing - and this is where we come into play. Because of the options that exist, the social economy textile collection is the one that achieves the highest added value, "explains RepaNet CEO Matthias Neitsch. Therefore, one wants to draw attention with an on-line map and topic initiative on the delivery points and containers of enterprises, which pass on the accumulated clothing the largest part in the domestic and at the same time integrate disadvantaged ones into the job market. It is now looking for sponsors.

RepaNet at the action "Wirtschaft hilft!"

In order to implement this and other projects, RepaNet participates in the current action "Wirtschaft hilft!" Of the Austrian Fundraising Association. "In the run-up to Christmas, many companies are deciding how to become socially engaged next year. That's why we present our organization in the new one Donation Guide: We want to reach companies that are committed to similar concerns in order to set a strong example for resource conservation with a social component, "says Neitsch. The donation guide has recently been published and provides guidance for Austrian companies who want to actively take on social responsibility within the framework of their corporate responsibility.

Looking for cooperation with eco-social added value

In the long term, RepaNet aims to change production and consumption patterns towards a circular economy in which high-quality products remain in use for as long as possible; the current project represents an important puzzle stone for this. Neitsch: "We want to end the period of confusing information on textile containers by generating security and a clear orientation for donors with a uniform label - a guarantee for the ecological and social handling of the donation , Companies working with us are sending a strong message. What our production will look like in the future depends, in addition to laws, to a large extent on the economic operators themselves. Therefore, it is very important to us to work together with partners on future models and to accompany them on their way to more social and ecological sustainability. "
