Release of sambar deer in Thailand

In the summer of 2021, WWF and partners released ten sambar deer in Mae Wong National Park. It is the first in a series of releases as hundreds of the rare tropical deer are still needed here. Because they not only enrich the ecosystem and keep the vegetation of the jungle in balance.

As one of the main sources of food, the sambars ensure the survival of the tigers and give them the chance to finally reproduce.
