Pleasing: flour performed well in the quality test

The Association for Consumer Information (VKI) had 28 flours tested for mold toxins and bacterial contamination. In cooperation with the Styrian Chamber of Labor, the flour was bought in health food stores, mills, from vending machines and in supermarkets in Styria. The selection consisted of eleven wheat flours, 13 spelled flours and - as a gluten-free alternative - four buckwheat flours. These included a total of 23 organic products and five from conventional cultivation.

The positive result:

With the exception of one product, all flours were rated “very good” or “good”. The broadcast of the VKI states: “The mold toxin deoxynivalenol (DON) was found in all 24 spelled and wheat flours. However, the measured concentration of pollutants was always below the legally stipulated maximum levels - mostly in a low range. Only the whole wheat flour from Fini's Feinstes had significantly higher values and therefore only received an 'average' rating. There is no acute health risk here either. "
