PLANETART DIALOGE – The tipping point in sight – How can we still stop climate change?
No Description
Panel discussion on October 15, 2022, 18.30:XNUMX p.m
The effects of climate change can be felt all over the world: sea levels are rising, extreme weather events such as heat waves, droughts, storm surges and forest fires are becoming more frequent, and the oceans are becoming warmer and more acidic. The consequences are poverty, famine and migration crises. Ecosystems such as forests, moors and oceans are important climate protectors because they store large amounts of carbon - if they are intact. The NABU International Nature Conservation Foundation is involved in projects worldwide to protect intact natural areas and restore destroyed landscapes in order to effectively counteract climate change. On this evening, together with representatives from politics, business and art, we are looking for answers on how we can counteract climate change as a society.
With MP Dr. Matthias Miersch (Deputy Chairman of the SPD parliamentary group for the environment, climate protection, energy, agriculture and consumer protection), Dr. Frank Woesthoff (moor conservation officer, NABU International Nature Conservation Foundation), Dr. Marko Schulz (Managing Director, solar company Saferay) and Olaf Otto Becker (photographer); Moderator: Viola Kiel (editor, ZEIT Green).
