“Never in my life have the political conditions felt so ripe for change,” says our guest Thea Riofrancos, Assistant Professor of Political Science at Providence College and author of the book: A Planet to Win: Why We Need a Green New Deal. Her research focuses on resource extraction, renewable energies, climate change, green technology, social movements and the left in Latin America.
Latinxs have so much political, electoral, and organizational power, and we know that we cannot go back to "normal" when normal is based on fossil fuel capitalism. These next few weeks are crucial in order to create the conditions for a healthy democracy and a healthy environment.
