Personal contribution against climate change

Climate change affects us all and will hit the young generation in particular. Especially for the upcoming vacation time flights contribute again to personal CO2 emissions. However, there are currently some climate protection platforms that allow air passengers to calculate and compensate for their emissions, so they can balance out at another location and thus make their own personal contribution to climate change.

Including the Viennese social start-up ReGreen. Young entrepreneurs Christoph Rebernig (22) and Karim Abdel Baky (22), who have been involved in reducing emissions since their school days, have the platform mindfulflights designed to give travelers the opportunity to compensate for their own flight emissions as transparently (United Nations certified) and sustainable as possible and thus to take responsibility for their own CO2 footprint.

The emissions caused are compensated by UN-certified climate protection projects. "Each climate compensation supports three projects that solve global problems. By compensating for a flight from Vienna to London for € 7, one protects about 160 square meters of Amazon forest area, enables sustainable wind energy in India and creates clean drinking water for three people in Bangladesh ", according to the founders of mindfulflights.
