Voting campaign against palm oil agreement launched! Today at noon, the referendum committee in Bern informed about the planned free trade agreement with Indonesia. The import of cheap palm oil into Switzerland is driving the destruction of the rainforest in Indonesia and is therefore a serious threat to the global climate and biodiversity.

On March 7, 2021, the EFTA (including Switzerland) free trade agreement with Indonesia will be heard before the people. This is controversial because of the palm oil problem, which led to a referendum against it on June 19, 2019. The “Stop Palm Oil” committee collected 61 signatures.
