On the final fire drill on Friday of 2020, Jane Jordan, Georgia State Senator, will join Jane to discuss the state of affairs in Georgia during the last run-off run, as well as the impact of the recent general election. This episode also offers a very special look back at some of the most inspiring and memorable moments Fire Drill Fridays experienced in this unprecedented and powerful year.
Why are there runoff elections? To win a seat in an election in Georgia, the candidate must receive at least 50% of the vote. In the elections in November this was not the case for either of the two Senate seats in the vote, so a special election will take place on January 5th. Jon Ossoff and Rev. Raphael Warnock will face incumbents Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue.
