One of the most beautiful moments in 2019 was definitely when we visited the beaming Biriye after her successful operation. Because, of course, it's not just about the numbers and data that make the success of our work verifiable and measurable, but primarily about the people - each and every one.
The story of Biriye is the best example of this: an incredibly energetic, strong young woman who suffered badly from a big goiter. Project manager Berhanu Bedassa personally tried to make Biriye's operation possible. This may hardly have an impact on the balance sheet, but Biriye's life has changed fundamentally!
