New social market for children at risk of poverty in Vienna - donations wanted

In Austria, more than 300.000 children and young people are at risk of poverty. Caring for toys, school supplies and clothing is a mammoth task for more and more parents.

In order to support families and especially children, SOS Children's Villages has now opened its first social market for toys and children's goods in Margareten, Vienna. “Because playing is not just a leisure activity for children, but an important factor for healthy physical, psychological and social development,” says Sarah Tanzer from "SOS balloon", like the social market in the beautifulbrunner Street 75 is called.

The SOS balloon is also intended to be a meeting point for neighborhood exchange, mutual help and advice and regularly invites you to events such as readings for children. Families and people whose income does not exceed a set limit can buy well-preserved second-hand goods and, in some cases, new products at low prices.

Donations are always accepted. We are looking for well-preserved toys, clothing for toddlers, baby carriers, sporting goods, children's vehicles, writing and handicraft materials, as well as children's, youth and school books.
