Liebesrausch & Liebeskater - Column by Mira Kolenc

Do you know the story of the Marula fruits and the drunken animals? Is a nice party icebreaker or if the subject of conversation on a date.

The story goes like this: The Marula tree, which occurs in the frost-free regions of Africa, carries about mirabelle-sized golden yellow fruits, which - yes, are processed, among other things, to a creamy liqueur that helps unmarried men at RTL, probably because The fruits are said to have an aphrodisiac effect, to find their "dream woman" - enjoy a great popularity in the animal world. Above all, the elephants, who are attracted by the scent of perishable fruits, magically. And since the pachyderms and the Marula tree are almost an inseparable double, one speaks of the elephant tree.
Any eyewitnesses and the movie "The funny world of animals" from the 1970er years now report from animals that fall into intoxication-like conditions after drinking the fermenting Marula fruits by the alcohol content and can no longer hold themselves on their feet.

Well, that's a nice idea, but unfortunately I have to disappoint you a bit. This whole marula-tree-story is a modern legend, but holds itself very stubborn! Presumably because in the drunken animal, which is no longer completely master of its senses, we (want to) recognize ourselves. Above all, we can laugh about it. Which makes the shame more bearable, which sobers us, catching up on our own failures in the intoxication.

That's the way we love things too. Or have you never done strange things when your brain was fresh in the rush of love?

Soberly, love is a strange phenomenon. But if you're inside, then you can just completely surrender to her and sometimes feel pretty helpless.
You also get to know yourself from completely new sides. Throw plates on the wall or hold amazingly vengeance thoughts.
Wears the much too short red dress, which was disdained for years in the closet, because the supercritical perception of ourselves was simply turned off like that.
Also, we finally manage the balancing act between work and leisure, because we can complete a market economy-friendly sleep of five hours without feeling tired. Morning workout included. This energy! Scary. Intoxicating. Addictive.

In retrospect, with the recovery of the well-tempered brain, some of my procedures and ways of thinking are completely mistaken. The big gestures are only ever embarrassing when you literally have the pink glasses on. And of course only if they find fertile ground.

"The enamored brain definitely creates a new world in which we are one thing above all else: braver. Life seems impressively hurdless. "

The enamored brain definitely creates a new world in which we are one thing above all else: braver. Life seems impressively hurdless. Nothing can throw you off track so fast and if it does, we'll be able to make it back anyway.
In doing so, the energy of the unfortunate or, say, the still insecure lover is directed towards his environment, while the happy lover carries his energy inward, into the partnership. In any case, we are first and foremost more willing to take risks.

Or how does Nick say so beautifully to Jess - two of the main protagonists of the New Girl series, who are making love in a short time - when they are in their honeymoon ?: "I do not want a refund for my cruises and I do not want a refund for You! "And Jess replies" We will never die! "(Season 3, episode 23).
Even though Nick and Jess end up only having to cruise together, even though they have split up in the meantime - the trip can not be canceled anymore and it would be a shame to pay a lot of money - the end of a love rush is not always that smooth.

Especially women like to put everything on a map in love, explains the German economist Miriam Beblo in an interview with Der Spiegel. And although 40 percent of marriages are divorced, this card for women is usually called "family" rather than "career." Which basically puts her in a weaker position. Structural and traditional thinking play a part, but women also seem to need less recognition in the form of money.

"We love to sing like Martin Reinl's Tofootier" All of me, oh, take everything from me. Do not you see, I want to give it to you ... "and end up in the pan."

It is perhaps the hardest exercise of love, not completely dissolve in the pair structure and off the love guy as an unrealistic scenario. We love to sing like Martin Reinl's Tofootier "All of me, oh, take everything from me. Do not you see, I want to give it to you ... "and end up completely in the saucepan. That's a little sacrifice. You will thank yourself in the end if you keep a small amount of your mind. In this sense, a good start to the spring!
