If you want to buy fruit and vegetables as seasonal and regional as possible, you can find out more in advance in the seasonal calendar. Depending on your taste, they can be printed out to hang up or online as lists and graphics.
The non-profit organization EUFIC, for example, provides a interactive map for Europe available that shows which foods are currently ripe in which country. The menu is created almost by itself 🙂
